Adjacent to Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, it is a private practice therapy office that provides services for infants, children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. A variety of educational and support groups are also offered for parents and adolescents by our competent staff of psychologists and therapists. Other services include testing and assessments. An onsite psychiatrist is available by appointment. Please look at our entire web site for more information about our comprehensive list of psychotherapeutic services. If you would like more information regarding hospitals, we have provided below some on-line resources for your convenience. Hospitals provide diagnosis and medical treatment for physical as well as mental conditions. As medical institutions, they provide inpatient care to people who require close medical monitoring. Additionally, their outpatient care is for people needing treatment without constant medical attention. Most hospitals offer a wide range of services and programs to maintain and enhance mental health in the community. Patients receive mental health evaluations, treatment, and rehabilitation services in an inpatient, partial hospitalization, or outpatient setting. Inpatient services: Offering a secure environment where referred individuals can recover from symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood instability, thoughts of suicide, and / or psychosis. Inpatient programs evaluate and treat acute mental health problems with the final goal of restoring patients to their optimal level of functioning in the shortest time possible. The Surgeon General describes inpatient units as short-term intensive settings to contain and resolve crises that cannot be resolved in the community. The priorities of psychiatric hospitalization focus on ameliorating the risk of danger to self or others in those circumstances in which dangerous behavior is associated with mental disorders. For this reason, hospitalized patients are commonly suicidal, homicidal, or decompensating (experiencing the rapid return of severe symptoms) to the degree that they cannot care for themselves or respond to community-based services. Inpatient services therefore emphasize safety measures, crisis intervention, acute medication, reevaluation of ongoing medications, and (re)establishing the client’s links to other supports and services (Sederer & Dickey, 1997).
