The Family Resource Counseling Center is a private practice psychological center designed to meet the needs of families and couples. We work with infants, children, adolescents, and adults, offering individual, family, couple, and group therapy. We work closely with each individual, family, and couple to ensure that they receive appropriate services designed to meet their needs. A variety of educational and support groups are also offered for parents and adolescents by our competent staff of psychologists and therapists. Other services include testing and assessments. An onsite psychiatrist is available by appointment. Please look at our entire web site for more information about our comprehensive list of psychotherapeutic services.

Families and couples pass through many stages of relationship, and each stage brings a whole new repertoire of experiences. Be it a small family, large family, new relationship, or long-term relationship, it is normal to be challenged with difficulties. Each family or couple will inevitably experience change and transitions. Issues may pertain to marriage, divorce, separation, pregnancy, parenting, development, finances, illness, death, infidelity, moving, jobs, education, extended family, stepfamilies, friends, communication, abuse, trauma, mood changes, drug/alcohol abuse and much more. Just as each problem is unique, the way it is handled by each family or couple also varies.

Many families and couples find it extremely beneficial to seek out professional support. It is important to reflect upon, acknowledge, and explore these changes or problems as well as coping styles through counseling. The process of working with a therapist or psychologist provides families and couples the opportunity to explore their issues with a neutral professional. Past patterns can be explored and healthier patterns created. Issues pertaining to communication and goals can be addressed within a supportive environment. Each member of a family or couple can feel heard and gain new understanding of their own role.  Because each family and couple is unique, services will be tailored to meet individual needs. Sometimes the entire family or both members of a couple will attend therapy and at times, an individual may choose to simultaneously attend individual therapy or group therapy. Serious issues may benefit from longer-term psychological treatment or counseling.
