The Family Resource Counseling Center provides services to the youth and their families providing supportive assistance in making the transition from a residential treatment program as smooth and successful as possible. In less severe cases, families may not have to consider residential treatment centers. In either case, the Family Resource Counseling Center offers individual and family counseling services that will focus on your families unique needs. Also, we offer a wide variety of group counseling for teens, including drug and alcohol recovery and eating disorders. Educational consultants can assist a family with guidance and support when their child or adolescent is at risk of experiencing problems at home or school. When these problems become overwhelming and a family is in crisis, a parent may struggle with knowing what to do or where to get treatment. They may question whether it is best to consider an inpatient hospital, a drug treatment center, a wilderness camp, a boarding school, medications from a psychiatrist, individual psychotherapy, family therapy or even group counseling. There are so many options and so many treatment centers that it’s often difficult to know which one is right for your needs. At a time of crisis, you want to make sure that you are getting the best quality therapeutic services available. Educational consultants are trained to understand a variety of challenges that youth face today, such as:

    • Drug, substance abuse & alcohol addiction
    • Eating disorders
    • Addictions
    • Anger and violence
    • Cutting & self-mutilation
    • Promiscuity
    • Other self-destructive behavior
    • Learning disorders and psychological difficulties
    • Failing at school and truancy
  • The role of your educational consultant is to assess the needs of your child and family, develop a treatment plan and provide assistance throughout the entire implementation of the treatment. Educational consultants typically make routine visits to the sites they recommend to maintain quality assurance with their recommendations. Their goal is to ensure an optimal chance for success for a young person and their family in recovery and healing.
