Putting the Passion and Fun Back into Your Relationship – March 6th

Are you having the same fight over and over again? Sometimes couples get tired of getting no where and just stop talking to each other. It’s not uncommon for couples to find themselves in a rut. Without even realizing it, a couple can destroy their intimacy and before long even forget what brought them together. When you don’t understand the underlying dynamics in a relationship, it is hard to make real progress or find solutions that work. Come spend an evening with Dr. Welanetz to put the passion and fun back into your relationship.

Managing Depression & Anxiety - February 16th

At some point everyone experiences anxiety and/or depression yet most people are unsure how to handle these powerful emotions. It may be uncomfortable to ask others for help or just seem too overwhelming to address. This seminar will allow you to discover how your thoughts and behaviors can affect your feelings of anxiety and depression and impact your daily activities. Also, there will be a focus on some manageable techniques that have helped others reduce stress and handle their moods more effectively.

Enjoying Your Adolescent—January 24th

Does this thought make you laugh? Are you thinking something along the lines of; “Whoever wrote this has never lived with an adolescent of their own, ‘Especially’ mine!” If this fits, then you have come to the right place. At Family Resource counseling center we excel at bringing out the best in family members, and this includes, your Adolescents. Adolescents are human too, even if it seem as if the child you once knew and loved, has been abducted by aliens and replaced with an “Alien” from another planet. We will help you navigate this transitional period in the life of your child. They no longer speak the same language as you. They no longer think as you do, in fact, probably, little of what they do makes any sense to you. What you need is a secret decoder ring, or a facsimile, that will allow you to understand what your adolescent is really saying to you. We will help you translate their overall behavior, so that you will be able to better work with, coexist, and yes, even, enjoy, your Adolescent.

Succeeding as a Single Parent in LA—January 11th

As a single parent in LA, you are facing some unique challenges. Being a parent is inherently challenging and yet as you know incredibly rewarding. Dr. Welanetz and Dr. Dane will provide you with real life, practical advice for the challenges you face and help you to handle them more effectively.

7 Habits of a Happy Baby—November 14th

Not only is there social pressure to be the “perfect parent” but everyone seems to have an opinion about how to do it best. This seminar provides clear and helpful approaches that not only feel right but are based on findings from researchers, educators, and parents. The seven areas addressed provide information that is comprehensive yet also essential to raising a happy baby.

Psychology of Money—November 7th / 2005

People often remain unconscious about what has helped or hurt their ability to become financially successful. It might almost appear that it was luck that has determined a person’s financial success. Since we were very little, we have been programmed and taught ways to cope which may in fact be undermining our potential. By making these dynamics conscious and enhancing your money skills, you have more of an ability to be in the driver’s seat of your financial success and future. Dr. Welanetz, a clinical psychologist and Director of the Family Resource Counseling Center, has been certified as a Psychology of Money Consultant. Dr. Welanetz will highlight the six psychological money traps and the ten skills which most directly affect financial success.
